Business apps from Excel

Turn workbook rows into a controlled business app.

Problem

Why this feature exists

Many Excel users already track leads, tickets, stock, payments or requests in rows, but the file becomes painful when they need saved views, due-date filters, files, notes, history, detail pages and simple dashboards around those rows.

Approach

How WorkbookWise handles it

WorkbookWise Apps keep the saved workbook as the source of truth and add a lightweight app layer. Users can start from ready-made app templates, describe a custom app in plain language, or create an app from an existing saved workbook, then review the app setup before working from list, detail and dashboard views.

Outcomes

What you can accomplish

Turn workbook rows into a controlled app without moving to a separate CRM or database.
Use app-specific nouns such as Lead, Ticket, Request, Asset or Invoice.
Search, filter, paginate and save useful list views.
Open record detail pages with grouped fields, files, notes and history.
Use dashboard summaries and Excel/CSV exports while keeping the workbook row model.

Who it is for

Built around real workbook owners

Small business owners

Need simple tracking for leads, payments, orders, stock or service work without buying a full CRM or ERP.

Office admins

Need follow-up lists, due dates, files and notes around workbook rows.

Support and operations teams

Need ticket-style views for internal IT, customer helpdesk, service requests or complaints.

Excel power users

Already maintain rows in Excel but want list views, detail pages and dashboards around the same data.

How it works

From input to useful output

1

Choose how to start

Pick a ready-made app, describe a custom app in plain language, or create an app from an existing saved workbook.

2

Review the setup

Check fields, statuses, views and sample records before the app is created.

3

Work from the list

Search records, choose columns, use created-time filters, switch views and page through rows.

4

Open record details

Edit fields inline, attach files, add notes and see history while the workbook remains the data source.

5

Use dashboard and exports

Review generic charts and counts, save views and export Excel or CSV when needed.
